Debuted in 2016, the Patek Philippe World Time Chronograph ref. 5930g is truly a sight to look at. The 5930g has a case made of white gold, as well as its fold-over clasp. And it features a handsome matte finished blue alligator strap to match it’s blue hand-guilloched dial.

Like all Patek Philippe watches, it is a special timepiece. It was inspired by another model that dates back to the year 1940. Both watches look elegant and timeless. The white gold case of the 5930g is 39.5mm in diameter and is 12.86mm in height. Foe a slightly bulky watch, it can be dressed up with a suit or dressed down with some jeans.

The watch is water resistant to 30 meters. However, I would never recommend you to put it in water to avoid damaging the leather strap. It can however handle daily usage with its sapphire crystal, and you can always show it’s movement to friends from it’s sapphire caseback. It is always fun to watch the 21 carat gold rotor wheel in action.

The 5930g uses the Patek Philippe sealed caliber CH 28-520 HU which ticks the watch 8 times per second giving you a semi-smooth sweeping seconds hand thanks to the Gyromax balance and the Spiromax balance spring both invented by Patek Philippe. The hour reserve on this watch is no less than 50 hours and no more than 52. The watch is as accurate as any other Patek Philipped sealed watch, with +3/-2 seconds per day.

By all means, all Patek Philippe watches are special, and this is no exception. It is good for daily usage, and is good to look at in a display. After all, wearing a hand crafted mechanical watch is like wearing a piece of art on your wrist. What are your thoughts of the 5930g? If you own one, please do share your story about it down below!
